Jazz-funk legends Level 42 goes to Singapore in September!

Everyone, get set for a retro revival as LAMC Productions revisits the ’80s with the legendary Level 42! Renowned for hits such as “Lessons in Love,” “Something About You,” and “Running in the Family,” Level 42 ruled the airwaves. Catch Level 42 on September 26, 2024 at UCC Ho Bee Auditorium @ NUS. Starting as a jazz-funk band alongside British funk peers like Incognito and Light of the World, Level 42 evolved into sophisti-pop and dance-rock stars, thanks to Mark King’s iconic slap-bass and Wally Badarou’s synth magic. Their 1985 album World Machine catapulted them to global fame.

Formed in 1979, the original lineup featured Mark King, Phil and Boon Gould, and Mike Lindup. Their early jazz-funk grooves transitioned to a more commercial sound, leading to major hits in the mid-’80s. Despite lineup changes and the tragic loss of guitarist Alan Murphy, Level 42 continued to evolve and produce music.

The band’s legacy spans decades with albums like Retroglide in 2006 and the Sirens EP in 2013. They’ve celebrated milestones with tours and special releases, proving their timeless appeal. Get ready to groove with Level 42 and relive the magic of the ’80s!
